Today I asked my 7th grade daughter to drop something off in the school office when she entered. She told me that she would not because it was embarrassing. I then told her that I would do it tomorrow, but I would go in wearing pajamas and a shower cap and be sure to announce who I was.
My daughter chuckled and said I would never do that. When I asked her why she was so sure she said, “I am not saying that you are not embarrassing, you are just not purposefully embarrassing.”
I am not sure if I should be insulted, or inspired to work on my embarrassment level.
Bwahahahaha! Spoken just like a middle school daughter to her mother. How well do I remember! Thanks for sharing and I adore your illustration.

Haha! My two children (aged 8 and 5) don’t seem to be too embarrassed by me yet. I’m sure they will be soon!

It is just a matter of time.

I always told my daughters at that age, that it was my job to embarrass them until they graduated from high school.

This gave me a chuckle. I am reading aloud SOL stories to my daughter, who is still awake. She says, “you would never do that either because it would embarrass you.” My response, “oh really, do I really care about that stuff?” Crickets.
I’m thinking we can both up our embarrassment game. I think it’s a challenge.
