In today’s classroom there are so many ways to get distracted. Gone are the days when 1 message to be relayed to all students could be done on a regular basis. Change is always good so I welcome it, but it is harder than ever to do what is best for all students at the same time! I’m always thinking of what I can do to teach what is needed to all in so many different ways that sometimes at the end of the day my head is spinning. Did I leave someone out today? Do I need to take them aside tomorrow and make sure they got the lesson?
Truthfully, it’s what makes me crazy but also what I love most about teaching.
At the end of each day we can honestly say we tried our best to meet the needs of ALL students! One adult to 22+ students makes it hard to make sure we do! I know, in my classroom there is not a minute that I am just doing nothing! I love that the students are being asked to self reflect more…that puts more ownership on them as a learner so they are responsible with us to make sure they understand what we are teaching!!

No two years are ever alike. You do your best for all every day, that’s all anyone can ask.

Thanks for caring and thinking about each one. Just keep reaching out, one by one.
