I never thought it would happen to me but, age has impacted my ability to thread a needle. I enjoy hand-sewing but the time it takes me to thread a needle has increased exponentially. There were times when the process took me ten minutes. It was a problem.
When visiting a local flea market, I picked up a plastic device and read the words embossed on it. It said “needle threader”. It was obviously a vintage item and it intrigued me. I asked the woman attending to the booth if the threader worked. She said that she was unsure but would sell it to me for $1 and I could find out for myself. I thought that was a fair deal.
When I got home I sat down with my new machine and tried to figure out how it worked. I ended up searching for clues through Google. You can find anything on the internet. I got a general idea of how the machine worked and gave it a shot. IT WAS A MIRACLE. Honestly, I still don’t understand how this machine can push a thin thread through a tiny needle eye but, it does and it has saved me time and aggravation.
My $1 purchase is worth its weight in gold!
