When I was home with my daughter when she was little, we spent a lot of time walking around the neighborhood. There was a retired gentleman at the end of our street who we always visited. One spring day we were talking about coins, clothing items, and coins we have discovered on our walk. He chuckled and said, “Spring uncovers the sins of the winter.”
Today while I was out at recess duty, I noticed mittens, gloves, socks, and trash that had been uncovered by the melting snow. I thought back to my neighborhood walk and Steve. Spring has uncovered the sins of our winter.
I love this phrase! Ha! I found some socks and gloves around our playground too. Hmmmm.

I always wonder how someone could not know they have lost something like a shoe or gloves, but yet I have seen them and they are not just kid’s items.

When I worked at a summer camp, I always wondered how someone could lose their underwear!

Great line! I’m gonna be on the lookout for my son’s gloves. He is wearing a mismatched pair because of the sins of winter.

I have uncovered two gloves in my front yard now that the snow has melted. I am glad I did not throw away the mate!

That quote is going to stay with me for a long time. Our snow is melted, but that doesn’t mean I won’t unearth things in the backyard when I finally get out there in a couple of weeks!
